Over 40 seminar topics are offered for creative/marketing/advertising professionals to attend in the three-day seminar jointly organized by Fiera de Manila Inc. An internationally renowned Professional Photographer, Bryan Peterson, will hold his one-day photography seminar-workshop on June 16. He is the author of bestselling photography books including “Understanding Shutter Speed,” “Learning to See Creatively,” “Understanding Photography Field Guide,” “Understanding Digital Photography” and “Beyond Portraiture.” He is the founder of online photography school The Perfect Picture School of Photography (www.ppsop.com). Photographers, both amateur and professionals, will get a chance to work and learn up close and personal with him in this limited engagement in the Philippines.
Several photo clubs are participating through their special photo exhibition in the 3rd Photo-Video Expo 2012.
The Zone V Camera Club, one of the oldest camera clubs in the country, will take center stage in their rare photo exhibitions with the theme “Trip the Light Fantastic.”
For this exhibit, the club has chosen to go with a different approach to the art of the captured image. Light painting is a technique where exposed images are made by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera. Each artist will have his own approach to this. One of the most famous images involving the technique is a photographic portrait of Pablo Picasso where he signs his name in the air using a flashlight. More often non-moving objects are lit separately from the background in order to highlight them. The result is a very moody, even eerie effect that makes for a unique image.
The SPPP [Society of Portrait Photographers of the Philippines] will present “Body Painting Photography” on stage during the three-day exhibition, while SLR [Samahan ng Litratista ng Rizal] the Camera Club, Framed Shots Camera Club, Chasing Lights Batch 11 Camera Club, BMSD [Bawal Magshot Dito] Camera Club and Photo Journalists Club of the Philippines will have photo exhibits and EyeBalls in the Expo.
The 17th Graphic Expo 2012 highlights the “Sampayan ng Bayan T-Shirt Design Contest” as the brainchild of one of the Philippines noted graphic designer Dopy Doplon of ArtOne Design. “The T-Shirt Revolution signals the strong market demand for T-shirts with very unique graphic design among the country’s big youth and urban professionals. With this T-Shirt design competition, we wish to encourage and uplift the creativity of Filipino design ideas and its execution…”according to Doplon.
Awarding of winners of the “Sampayan ng Bayan T-Shirt Design Contest” will be on June 14, at the opening ceremonies of the event.
The Manila InDesign Users Group, a group of magazine designers that used Adobe InDesign software to layout multiple magazine pages will hold its General Membership Meeting in the 17th Graphic Expo on June 14. The group wanted to be a part of this big creative festival event and expo.
Another creative group, the International Designers Network (IdN), composed of the country’s digital artists will showcase their creative folio in the Design Gallery of the 17th Graphic Expo 2012.
