Fun and safe travels aboard 2GO’s MV Maligaya

2GO Maligaya

With a more optimistic outlook for sea travel, 2GO is ready to sail the seas and welcome guests aboard its newest vessel, mv Maligaya. A subsidiary of SM Investments Corp., 2GO is the country’s largest premier sea travel operator with 18 ports of call across Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.

In line with its mission toward modernization, 2GO is offering a new experience for sea travelers aboard mv Maligaya with its state-of-the-art amenities. The vessel is currently the largest roll-on, roll-off passenger and cargo vessel in the Philippines designed for optimum inter-island travel.

It operates on a Manila-Cebu-Cagayan de Oro route and is expected to do round trips twice a week. Maligaya is the sixth passenger liner in 2GO’s fleet. Another vessel, mv Masagana, is also set to operate soon.

On May 31, Maligaya arrived in the docks of Cebu fresh off of its maiden voyage from Manila. Akin to a luxury cruise ship, the vessel has a restaurant, cafe, beauty salon, convenience store, bar, KTV booths and more.

In terms of accommodation, the ship boasts a wide range of air-conditioned and open-air options, including the state room, business premium, tourist premium, business class, tourist class and the tatami. There’s a room for every type of traveler and price range, whether you’re going solo or with the family, on a budget or willing to splurge.

To ensure that guests aboard mv Maligaya have a safe voyage, wearing of face mask and shield is required in public areas. Upon disembarkation, all previously occupied rooms are thoroughly disinfected and sanitized in preparation for the next group of guests.

Over the years, Cebu has been known as a maritime hub not only for the infrastructure and business acumen but also for its rich heritage, culture and tourism. With new vessels and unabated operations, 2GO aims to bounce back from the pandemic and revivify sea travel across the Philippines.
